The Organic Date,
Algerian Deglet Nour
The Algerian Deglet Nour date is a fruit that is shaped like a finger and the fact that its flesh is very thin and translucent allows you to see its core inside. Suffice it to say: A finger that lets itself be pierced by light, hence the name finger of light.
Deglet Nour from Algeria is grown in the Tolga oasis which is the date terroir in Algeria. The date has benefited from a GI or controlled designation geographical identifier since 2016.
There are two types of Deglet Nour dates that are marketed and offered to customers:
· The fresh date , Algerian Deglet Nour
· The date conditioned & pitted Algerian Deglet Nour
Organic Fresh Date
Fresh Date Algerian Deglet Nour is defined as such when its humidity level is between 25 % and 35 % and has not undergone any transformation process; it is presented as it was plucked from the palm tree. The fresh Algerian Deglet Nour is soft, honeyed and melts in the mouth.
Generally, fresh dates are eaten as dessert or in small bites, stuffed with blue cheese. It is a fruit with which we delight the palate.
Organic Pitted Date
The datte conditioned and pitted Algerian Deglet Nour was dried under the sun to prolong its conservation, then rehydrated with steam to regain a certain softness. It has been pitted to facilitate its integration into various preparations such as smoothies, muffins, date squares, etc. It is an excellent alternative to refined sugar.
